Magnificant Maths

This is a simple way to solve hard math questions.

My goal Is to use a broad range of mental strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems.
We had to learn three different strategies (Tidy numbers, Place value and Reversibility). Some were a little hard, but My Favorite strategy Was Place Value.

Here is an example:

123+321=

100+300=400
20+20=40
3+4=7

400+40+7=447

I hope you learned something!

Izzy H's Sentences to Fix

Using your new knowledge of noun groups (adjectives & nouns), text connectives

(pronouns & time connectives) & interesting verbs & adverbs, fix up the following

sentences.

Remember:
Adjective - describing word i.e. beautiful
Noun - naming word i.e. cat
Pronoun - replaces a noun in a sentence i.e. he, she, I
Time connective - joins sentences & phrases together i.e. firstly, meanwhile, next
Verb - doing word i.e. running, biking
Adverb - word that modifies a verb i.e. she swam quickly

You may find it useful to use a thesaurus to find new words.

Using your new knowledge of these written features, transform 3 of these sentences.

The pup lay on the snow. She looked at the water. It was a sunny day. It was cold.
Elsie the beautiful little pup stretched on the soft pearly white powder snow. She glanced at the

frozen, icy water. It was a not-so-sunny day. It was as cold as being trapped in a freezer.

The vehicle went across the road. There was a car waiting to cross.
The tattered turquoise car slowly drove across the road. A shiny scarlet truck was waiting to cross, too.

The crow flew across the sky. It had wings and a beak.
The black crow glided at full speed across the sunny sapphire sky.
It had shadowy blue wings and a grayish beak.

The bird flew across the sky. It had big wings and yellow eyes. It saw something,
and went down towards the ground.

The bird traveled across the deep blue sky.
Those huge black wings were carrying her surprisingly slowly.
She was hunting for something. Those brilliant yellow eyes were splendid for searching.
She noticed what she was looking for, and plummeted down towards the ground.

A tentacle came out of the water. The creature had a big head and big eyes.

A humongous pink tentacle rose out of the water.
The sea demon had a fat orange head and those cylindrical eyes as big as
coffee tables.

Create Task: Use the one of the following pobble prompts, to write a short paragraph ( 7-8
sentences) using your new understanding of written narrative features.

Start writing below

It was a cloudy night, at full moon. Carmel the pretty black crow was gliding towards the spooky moldering castle. She was used to it, when she was remodeled into a fantail in the castle that looked like it was there since the dinosaurs. She did it every night at full moon. Carmel flew and flew and flew towards the old castle. And then, suddenly, one of her wings got caught in a net or whatever it was. But, horribly, it was not a net. It was something completely different.

90 words, 8 sentences.
