Hello, there! Today, I am going to show you what I have learnt for maths this week. take a look at the slideshow, and then you can read through the explanation down at the bottom. Enjoy!
So, let's start with the question 15 x 7
10 x 7 = 70
We take the 15 and make it 10 and 5. This is a matter of knowing your 5, 7 and 10 times tables. The 5 and 10 times tables are pretty easy, but the 7 times tables might be a little hard. Luckly, you don't have to times by 7 if you don't want to.
Back to the question. As I said, this is a matter of knowing your 5, 7 and 10 times tables.
You take the 10, and x it by 7. Or the other way around, if you want to. that is pretty easy, because we all know what 7 x 10 is. It equals 70.
Now, you times the 5 by 7. If you know how to skip count in 5's, this will also be a pretty easy task. You go: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35.
The answer is 35.
Ok. Now all you have to do is to plus the 35 with 70. That equals 105.
We basically went and did:
15 x 7 = 105
5 x 7 = 35
35 + 70 = 105
Can you figure out how to work this question? 22 x 3 =
